Stolen £25k Closes Charity

As reported on the Lincolnshire Live website, a charity treasurer has been jailed after she swindled £24,500 from her employer – Cleethorpes Rescue Service – forcing it to close.

Roxanna Bridgeland, stole the money over five years and even sold a £13,000 life boat on eBay.

She systematically stole cash and sold off items, defrauding the taxpayer of £6,000 by making false claims for Gift Aid from the Inland Revenue, and even sold the charity’s rescue radios to Cash Convertors, using the money to fund her lifestyle.
