Liam Wilcox was arrested after West Midlands Police took to Twitter to post CCTV footage of a man suspected of stealing from the branch in Sheldon.read more
Fake Goods Seized On Oxford Street
The BBC News website reports that police have seized an “astonishing” haul of fake designer goods and illegal items in pre-Christmas raids in London’s Oxford Street.
Operation Jade raided four souvenir and sweet shops and confiscated more that 17,500 items, including unsafe toys, counterfeit clothing, and incorrectly-labelled nicotine products.read more
Jail For Shoplifting Alcoholic
According to the Lancashire Telegraph website, a shoplifter stole more than £1,000 worth of goods in a six-week spree, to fund his chronic alcohol addiction.
Joshua Thomas Whalley stole booze worth a total of £475 from Tesco, handbags worth £381 plus meat worth £396 from Marks & Spencer.read more
Prolific Thief Stole Leeds Football Shirts
The Yorkshire Evening Post website reports that a prolific thief has been jailed after he was caught stealing £660 worth of football shirts from a Leeds United shop.
Dilwyn Hoare – who has 76 previous convictions – took 15 adult shirts from a stand, rolled them up and placed them into a bag on the floor.read more
