The Western Daily Press reports that a serial shoplifter is facing the prospect of doing ‘Porridge’ after stealing four candles.

Sonia Stevenson has pleaded guilty to a series of thefts including four Yankee candles worth £80 in Plymouth, Devon.

BBC News reports that Matthew Cooper – an employee of Aviva, one of the UK’s biggest insurers – stole information from his employers and sold on hundreds of customer records to a claims company and two firms of solicitors.

Bikes, computers and other property, worth around £8,000, was stolen from a shop in Uxbridge on 18/19 December but an eagle-eyed volunteer spotted an advert on Gumtree trying to sell the loot on the evening of the 20th December.

Thief Shoplifted Seven Times In One Day

Carlisle’s News & Star reports that a serial shoplifter struck seven times during a pre-Christmas spree on December 10 2015.

Magistrates heard that Sian Baker-Douglas was in the throes of a £200-a-day heroin habit when she struck at Fat Face, Marks & Spencer, Clinton Cards, Wilko and River Island in Carlisle city centre.

Police Hunt Hoverboard Thief

Detectives in South London have appealed for help in identifying a thief riding a hoverboard in a Co-Op store, according to The Guardian.

The man entered the store in Mitcham and travelled round the aisles before casually leaving with a crate of Lucozade in his arms.

According to the Lancashire Telegraph, a serial liar and convicted child sex offender applied for restaurant jobs using a false CV, attempting to pass himself off as a top chef, whilst failing to reveal any previous convictions.
