Jail For Shoplifting Alcoholic

According to the Lancashire Telegraph website, a shoplifter stole more than £1,000 worth of goods in a six-week spree, to fund his chronic alcohol addiction.

Joshua Thomas Whalley stole booze worth a total of £475 from Tesco, handbags worth £381 plus meat worth £396 from Marks & Spencer.

A court heard that Whalley would drink as much alcohol “as he could get his hands on.”
