FM Stole £100k Per Year

The North Devon Gazette website reports that a finance manager stole £877,000 from a design company which was forced to lay off staff because of her fraud.

Clare Roberts had the total trust of the company’s founder and used her position to steal about £100,000 a year for almost a decade.

Gang Targeted Asda Stores

The Warrington Guardian website reports that a gang of thieves has been jailed for over 20 years, after running a ‘planned and professional’ shoplifting operation across the length and breadth of the UK.

The six men, – all Romanian nationals – succeeded in stealing goods with a minimum value of £161,678.

Worker Stole 86 Mobile Phones

The Stoke-On-Trent Live website reports that an ex-con has been jailed again after he stole 86 mobile phones, worth £23,000, from his employer.

Wayne Grocott was employed to develop computer programs and help to build the company’s website, but after just three months in the role he stole the phone whilst the business owner was on holiday.

PC Accused Of Kit Theft

As reported on the Yorkshire Post website, a West Yorkshire Police officer is to face a misconduct hearing after it is alleged he stole various items of equipment which he later sold on eBay.

PC David Hitchcocks is accused of stealing a pair of motorbike boots issued to him by the force from a station locker room in July 2019.

Serial Thief Had 250 Offences

The Chronicle Live website reports that a career criminal with 250 offences to his name has been jailed after his latest shoplifting spree.

Neil Ganjel targeted the same branch of Boots five times in just three days, often dashing inside, grabbing make-up and razors then fleeing without paying.

Co-op Tag Meat With GPS Trackers

We’re not 100% sure that this isn’t an April Fool’s gag, but the Daily Mail website reports that supermarkets have been forced to add GPS tracker systems to meat to deter thieves from stealing high-value products.

The Co-op have put plastic containers on foods that can only be opened by checkout staff.
