Charity Shop Closed Fitting Rooms
Saturday, 14th June 2025 at 9:49amAccording to the Kent Online website, workers at a charity shop have had to close fitting rooms and hide stock, as clothes, shoes and even furniture handles are stolen.
Staff at Making a Difference to Maidstone (MADM) described the surge in shoplifting as a “slap in the face”.
One employee told how the shop now only puts out one shoe at a time for display rather than a complete pair, to thwart a thief who regularly stole shoes.
