£285k Fine For Fake Goods Trader

The Cornwall Live website reports that a Newquay man narrowly avoided a jail sentence but has received a fine of £285,000 for selling counterfeit goods.

In addition to pre-prepared items, Daniel Pettit also allowed customers to order products to be printed with images or designs relating to a number of popular brands, including Fortnite, Call of Duty and North Face.

Pettit had been warned several times by Cornwall Trading Standards but evidence again came to light in 2018 that the business was continuing to print unauthorised trademarks. Test purchases were made by officers to confirm what was happening.
