“Captain” Lied About Military Record

The Plymouth Herald reports that a man lied about being a British Army Captain for 11 years – when he had served just 40 days as a private.

Prosecutors for Trading Standards said that 42-year-old Christopher Griffin had claimed on his business website that he was a former Captain, serving for 11 years, “and a further nine years in British Army Reserves”.

Checks with the Royal Military Police revealed Griffin had actually only been a private in the Royal Signals for just 40 days in 1991.
