COVID Increased Employee Fraud
Friday, 1st April 2022 at 10:30amAccording to the Consultancy.uk website, employee fraud jumped by 45 cases in 2021, according to a new report, with researchers believing the rise was due to Covid-19.
The pandemic provided more opportunities for fraudulent behaviour, as companies continued to rush out home-working initiatives.
A KPMG spokeperson said that anxiety, mixed with economic uncertainty, has been a leading motivation for some employees to commit fraud.
