Employee Stole £1.9m

The BBC News website reports that a woman stole £1.9m from her employers over an eight-year period, to fund her “luxury lifestyle”.

Julie McBrien – jailed for five-and-a-half-years – was in charge of finances for Cookstown-based Northern Mouldings Limited.

Despite enjoying a good salary, she filtered cash from the company, bringing it to the verge of collapse, making up false bank statements and forging the signature of a former employee.
