According to the Sheffield Star website, a Sheffield grandmother stole more than £8,000 from the Co-op convenience store she worked at for around eight years.

Patricia Budd – a trusted and respected employee – started stealing from the company in 2014, before being caught in November 2016.

She managed to steal a total of £8,191 from the store during that time, by voiding products that customers had legitimately bought through the tills, and keeping the value of each item.

Budd has been sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
