Pharmacy Worker Faked Burglary

The Birmingham Live website reports that an employee at a chemists in Birmingham pretended the premises had been burgled in a bid to hide the fact he had stolen £1,400.

Simon Hodgetts told police that around 7.15am there was a knock at the front door and that he had been confronted by a man with a gun demanding to be let in.

Hodgetts later changed that story and claimed that whilst he was lifting the shutters, he had been threatened by a crowbar-wielding intruder.
