A Primark employee from Dagenham has admitted issuing £500 worth of refunds to himself after closing time, according to the Barking and Dagenham Post.

Store bosses of the clothing chain’s Ilford branch became suspicious after a high number of refund transactions connected to Felix Ogunleye’s employee number took place after hours.

An internal investigation found that on ten occasions the 37-year-old logged on to a customer service till after obtaining electronic copies of sales receipts, and on a further two occasions logged in as another employee.

CCTV footage showed that although members of the public stood near the till on several occasions, nobody was ever given a refund.
