‘Pro Fence’ Spied On By Neighbour

The Leicester Mercury reports that a ‘professional fence’ who handled stolen goods to sell on eBay was monitored by a nosey neighbour, who kept a log of suspicious late night visits to his home.

The resident in Queensway, Melton Mowbray, watched doorstep transactions taking place at the home of Darren George McKenzie, where 22 items found at the premises were identified as stolen, including bicycles, a hedge trimmer, a lawn mower, a leaf blower and other electrical equipment.

The prosecutor told the court that Mr McKenzie was, “a professional and a significant fence”, and added “[his] was a business; taking on stolen goods and selling them on eBay for profit.”
