Selfridges Worker Stole To Fund Gambling Habit
Saturday, 17th February 2018 at 1:42pmAccording to the Manchester Evening News, a department store worker stole luxury, designer brands worth over £5,000 over the course of one month.
William Townsend stole to fund his gambling habit, after initially planning to buy the items using his 35% staff discount and sell them on at a profit.
He was caught taking pictures of the luxury swag in the stockroom of the Selfridges store in Exchange Square, before uploading them via his work phone to sell on the internet.
He was later seen on CCTV stuffing clothing ‘under his coat and down his trousers’ to sneak them out of the swanky store.
