Senior Cop Accused Of Stealing Beef
Wednesday, 25th May 2016 at 7:21pmAs reported in the Express, one of Scotland’s most senior police officers tried to give Tesco staff the slip after he was caught with three beef fillets in his pocket.
A court was told that Assistant Chief Constable John Mauger gave a false name to the security guards who apprehended him in a Teso Extra store in Colchester.
Mauger was already on £115,000-a-year “gardening leave” over other matters when he was suspended by the Scottish Police Authority (SPA) in April.
