Shoplifter Couldn’t Remember Stealing

Lincolnshire Live reports that a woman who was accused of stealing four trolleyloads full of shopping has been cleared by a court – because she could not remember doing it.

Tammy Ann Chapman wheeled a supermarket trolley full of shopping out of a Tesco Extra store three times and once from an Asda supermarket, but magistrates decided to clear her of all four charges because she was on medication and claimed she could not remember any of the incidents.

Chapman claimed the anti-depressant drugs she was taking at the time made her life a blur.
