Shoplifters Stole During Their Trial

As reported in the Liverpool Echo, a pair of brazen shoplifters left court while their trial was on a lunch break – to go on another thieving spree at shops nearby.

Robert Smith and Irene Jones even brought the goods they’d stolen from a nearby Iceland store and a pet shop with them back to the court.

Smith and Jones had turned up for a trial at Llandudno in North Wales fully prepared for theft, magistrates in North Wales were told.

Diane Williams, prosecuting, said: “They came here in tandem, pre-planned and had the audacity to come back through security with a case and bagful of goods.”
