Shoplifting Up 67% In St Albans

As reported in The Herts Advertiser, new statistics revealed by Hertforshire Police show that shoplifting is 67% up in comparison to the previous year.

Since April 1 2016 there have been 368 instances of shoplifting – with meat, alcohol and clothes making up most of the items stolen in the district.

St Albans district Det. Insp. Pete Frost said: “Many people think shoplifting is a victimless crime, but theft costs us all with increased shop prices.”
