Shops On ‘Counterfeit Street’ Shut Down

The Manchester Evening News website reports that another shop on Bury New Road, north of Manchester city centre, has been shut down after 11 different businesses were found trading and selling fake goods.

The road, dubbed ‘counterfeit street’, has become synonymous with shops selling fake products, including Dior jewellery and Givenchy perfume.

A network of ‘spotters’ – people who alert the counterfeit shops to the presence of the authorities – was also discovered during these raids.
