Tech Firms Fight Fake Qualifications

According to the Coin Telegraph website, Japanese tech giants Sony and Fujitsu have created an encrypted database for educational proficiency documents, in a bid to prevent forgeries which are being used secure resident status in the country.

The database, which reportedly employs blockchain technology, enables Japanese language schools to compare certificates with data registered on the blockchain in order to verify that the documents are indeed authentic.

Universities and institutions of learning around the world have been employing blockchain technology to fight fake diplomas.
