Thief Caught When Reporting A Crime

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, a thief who stole £5,000-worth of electrical kit was busted by police when he reported being a victim of fraud himself.

Over four days in January, Robert Henderson-Rhodes stole two Apple MacBook Pros and an iPhone 6 from students who were studying in Northumbria University’s library.

But a court heard how he got a taste of his own dishonest medicine when he sold one of the items online and became a ‘victim’ of fraud as he never received payment.

The brazen graduate rang police to report the crime but his own offending quickly came to light when officers investigated the incident further.
