As reported in the Bristol Post, a trusted worker and father-of-four devised a simple scam to pocket almost £15,000 of his employer’s money.

As transport manager, Wayne Holden booked jobs for Kings Heavy Haulage and took payment, but then cancelled them on the firm’s books. He then either put the payment in his bank account or kept the cash.

A court heard that Holden made 14 payments into his bank account and took two cash payments, totalling £14,946.

Holden had worked for the company for over a decade and his fraud was rumbled after a job cancelled on the firm’s admin system was actually paid for by a customer.
