Senior Cop Accused Of Stealing Beef

As reported in the Express, one of Scotland’s most senior police officers tried to give Tesco staff the slip after he was caught with three beef fillets in his pocket.

A court was told that Assistant Chief Constable John Mauger gave a false name to the security guards who apprehended him in a Teso Extra store in Colchester.

Mauger was already on £115,000-a-year “gardening leave” over other matters when he was suspended by the Scottish Police Authority (SPA) in April.
