Council Worker Stole Smoke Alarms
Tuesday, 17th November 2020 at 10:09amThe BBC News website reports that a Dundee City Council supervisor stole smoke alarms and other lifesaving equipment from his workplace and sold them on eBay.
Over almost four years, Iain Gardyne stole 93 heat alarms, 66 sensors, 40 smoke alarms and 12 heat detectors.
He was caught when another user of the site recognised the local authority-approved equipment.
