Bookies’ Manager Stole To Fund Addiction

As reported on the BBC News website, a bookmakers’ manager stole thousands of pounds from his employer to fund his worsening gambling addiction.

Daniel Cassidy admitted stealing £9,500 from his employer and he was sentenced to an 11-month, suspended jail term and ordered to pay £5,000.

Management had initially noticed money missing from the safe and, after examining rotas, noticed Cassidy had been working at the time.
