Bookkeeper Stole £1.4m
Saturday, 5th October 2024 at 6:53pmAccording to the Worksop Guardian website, a former bookkeeper stole an eye-watering £1.4m from her bosses during an 11-year fraud.
Deborah Thorlby-Hall spent the money on luxury holidays, cars and home improvements, and tried to blame the fraud on the company’s managing director and accountants.
A court heard that Thorlby-Hall also spent £27,000 on the Postcode Lottery – winning £183,000 – splurged £28,000 on Amazon, £87,000 at Next and gifted over £240,000 to her husband and son.
