Accountant Stole £252k From Employer

According to the Northern Echo website, a heartless and “narcissistic” accountant stole more than £250,000 from his employer – and friend – who was busy caring for his terminally-ill wife.

Christopher Sopp had a position of trust, as a Citroen dealership’s financial director, but paid himself large sums which he hid in the company’s accounts.

Sopp also fraudulently obtained a pension and laundered money to award himself a pay rise – despite earning more than £70,000 a year, receiving free health care and long-haul holidays.
