Amazon and Cartier To Fight Fakery

The Fashion United website reports that the global fight against counterfeit goods has seen a pairing up of Cartier, the French jeweller and online retailer Amazon.

The companies announced two joint lawsuits against a social media influencer and eight other entities for advertising, promoting, and facilitating the sale of counterfeit luxury goods through Instagram and elsewhere.

The lawsuits cite infringement of Cartier’s registered trademarks and violation of Amazon’s policies, and alleges the defendants colluded with each other to sell the fake products and engage in false advertising.
