Bank Hired Staff With ‘Fake’ Degrees

Channel 4 News reports that two senior compliance staff hired by HSBC Saudi Arabia – a subsidiary of the main British bank – have unaccredited business degrees.

Dozens of Saudi staff working at international finance firms across the industry have listed questionable qualifications from unaccredited institutions.

One staff member, Ashraf BinAli, formerly head of regulatory and financial crime compliance at HSBC Saudi Arabia, was hired in early 2015 with a business degree from “Kensington University”, an internet distance learning provider, which no longer exists after being forced out of business in California.
