Business Fraud Is Booming

An article on the ITProPortal website reports that business fraud is booming and suggests that companies are creating environments that increase fraud risk.

Business and accounting fraud (suspected in the recent case of Patisserie Valerie’s accounting black hole) is a serious problem across the country.

With fraud costing UK businesses £190m a year, 40 per cent of that is suspected to involve companies’ own employees.

According to Action Fraud, businesses reported £88m of insider fraud in 2018.
