Cinema Boss Stole Over €200K

According to The Irish Sun website, the general manager of a Dublin cinema stole over €200,000 from his employer and “whittled” it away, mainly on gambling.

John Connolly told police that he thought he could take the money and put it back, whilst a court heard that at one stage he was one number away from winning €250,000 on the Lotto.

The two keys to the cinema’s main safe were initially held by Connolly and a separate security company, but after an organisation change in 2016, Connolly held both keys and had full access.
