The Mirror reports that two former NHS workers who stole dental equipment worth £75,000 which they sold on eBay have been jailed.

Darren Lawson who worked as a storeman for NHS Lothian stole the goods before passing them to hospital site supervisor Gianni Donofrio who traded them on the auction website.

Detective Sergeant Gordon Millar said: “Both Lawson and Donofrio met while employed by NHS Lothian and worked together to steal a considerable quantity of dental equipment, which was paid for by the taxpayer.

“They made a large profit selling these items online and were only caught as a result of the partnership investigation by Police Scotland and NHS Scotland Counter Fraud Services.”
