Falmouth Besieged By Shoplifting Gang

According to the Cornwall Live website, a shop owner in Falmouth believes thousands of pounds worth of goods are being stolen weekly by a ‘professional’ gang of shoplifters who are targeting stores in the town.

Alan Parmenter describes the police response to the crime wave as “pathetic”, and he is doubly angry that the gang is then allegedly selling the stolen items on eBay.

His shop, Bosun’s Locker, has been hit regularly, as has Moss Bros, Hawkshead and WH Smith.

Mr Parmenter said, “In the 15 years I’ve been trading in Falmouth I have never known such intense targeting by an organised gang.”
