Haulage Manager Stole £37k

As reported on the Teeside Live website, a manager at a haulage company stole £37,209 after staff began working from home during the COVID pandemic.

Andrea Lakey was allowed to take the firm’s banking device home, and was responsible for processing the payroll of two companies, with the same owner.

When staff returned to the offices, the firm’s MD found that two employees had been paid twice – once from each of the companies.
