Influencers Driving Sales Of Fake Brands

According to an article on The Fashion Law website, a recent survey from the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office [UKIPO] revealed that over 13% of participants claim their purchasing of counterfeit products has been influenced by social media endorsements.

UKIPO found that fashion and related accessories are top drivers of counterfeit consumption, with this category of goods being “particularly attractive” for younger (aged 16-33) consumers.

Aside from clothing and accessories, fake jewellery, watches and beauty products were also noted as frequently purchased.
