Manager Gave Staff Stolen Cash

The Mail Online website reports that a restaurant manager who stole £21,610 from the till has been spared jail after claiming he gave half the money to staff.

Mario D’Agostino exploited a customer loyalty scheme to skim money, when bosses of the luxury eatery chain began taking a share of workers’ tips.

Over a 10-month period, D’Agostino created fake customer accounts on the loyalty scheme and then took the £20 ‘welcome’ rewards which were offered to diners who signed up.
