The Island Echo website reports that a holiday park employee stole more than £13,000 by simply refunding business transactions onto her personal bank cards.

Kathryn Lucas made the fraudulent transactions over a period of less than two years, and initially claimed her family were being chased by loan sharks.

As reported on the BBC News website, a bookmakers’ manager stole thousands of pounds from his employer to fund his worsening gambling addiction.

Daniel Cassidy admitted stealing £9,500 from his employer and he was sentenced to an 11-month, suspended jail term and ordered to pay £5,000.

Heidi Bucknall – jailed for 26 months – used dead youngsters’ names to fraudulently claim the cash over a six-year period.

As reported on the Teeside Live website, a manager at a haulage company stole £37,209 after staff began working from home during the COVID pandemic.

Andrea Lakey was allowed to take the firm’s banking device home, and was responsible for processing the payroll of two companies, with the same owner.
