Convicted Murderer Stole £17k
According to the BBC News website, a convicted murderer who was given a retail management role to assist her rehabilitation, stole £17,000 from the business.

The Independent website reports that one in ten independent shops lost more than £10,000 to shoplifting in the last two years.
And, according to the Federation of Small Businesses, even pound shops are having to install new security measures to head off losses in the thousands.
