According to Mail Online, Wiltshire Police officers will no longer attend shoplifting crime scenes in Swindon, as part of a money-saving scheme.

Instead, shop owners will be asked to take down details of any offenders, submit any CCTV footage and file their own statements to the police.

According to a story in The Leader, a Wrexham man has admitted handling and selling stolen Vauxhall parts worth thousands of pounds on eBay.

Mark Roberts had a stash of goods worth £38,000 which had been taken by an employee from the Vauxhall car plant in Ellesmere Port.

Harrogate Businesses Urged To Increase Security

The Harrogate Advertiser reports that police have urged local shop owners to increase their security after more than 100 additional offences were reported in the town centre alone this year.

From February to August 31 this year, the average number of reported incidents of shoplifting across the district was higher than the North Yorkshire average.

Asda Worker Stole Goods Worth £42k To Sell On eBay

In Blackpool, The Gazette reports that a supermarket worker stole goods worth an estimated £42,000 from his employer to sell on eBay in a “massive abuse of position”.

Daniel Cannon, 28, had access to the Asda warehouse in Fleetwood, from where he would steal mobile phones and tablets over a series of months.
