Shoplifter Banned From Cumbria

According to the News & Star website, a shoplifter travelled to Carlisle from the North East to steal goods from Tesco worth more than £1,000 on two consecutive days.

Natasha Waddle pleaded guilty to the two thefts – one of £361 on a Monday and then another worth £659 the very next day.

Santander Worker’s £180k Fraud

The Oxford Mail website reports that an anti-fraud Santander manager has been jailed for 18 months for targeting the elderly and vulnerable customers during a four-year £179,900 fraud.

Charlotte Mills preyed on the accounts of customers, mostly in their 70s and 80s, that she had met at the branch in Abingdon.

The Mail Online website reports that shoplifting has soared to record levels of nearly a billion pounds a year, according to the latest study by the British Retail Consortium.

Customer theft reached £935 million in the year to March 2020, up a staggering 21% per cent on the previous 12 months.

A former policeman and “sex pest” stole tens of thousands of pounds from hotels to pay for cocaine and his addiction to sex workers and escorts.

Whilst James Hughes as being investigated about stealing £24,000 from a Welsh boutique hotel, he got another job at a London hotel and helped himself to £40,000.

The Cheshire Live website reports that a fraudster has pleaded guilty after attempting to sell fake branded goods over the internet.

Tanya Fletcher was busted after a trading standard’s team saw ads for expensive ‘branded’ clothing at cheap prices on her social media accounts.

Thief Used Scooter On Raid

The Bishop’s Stortford Independent website reports that a brazen shoplifter used a two-wheeled scooter to navigate the aisles in Boots, stealing items as he went.

Despite being apprehended by a customer, the thief continued on his crime spree, grabbing nasal strips worth £18 and a Nicorette nasal spray worth £46 before scooting out the door.
