Tyre Fitters Stole Unused Stock

The Swindon Advertiser website reports that a trio of tyre fitters stole thousands of pounds-worth of unused stock to sell it on eBay.

Adam Thomas, Ricky Waugh and Matthew Smith devised a scheme to siphon off unused new tyres that were due to be returned to the manufacturer.

The Bury Times website reports that an accountant who stole almost £80,000 from her boss squandered the money on family holidays, hotels and Amazon purchases.

Laura Fielding – jailed for two years – earned £43,000 a year yet looted cash from the company accounts of Bolton businesswoman Lynsey Pogson on 43 occasions.

Church Treasurer Stole £450k

The BBC News website reports that a church treasurer who stole more than £450,000 from charities has been jailed for three years.

Craig McCulloch – described as “devious” – stole more than £130,000 from a London church, defrauded a charity of £287,000 and took nearly £38,000 from a college.

Co-Op Using Face Recognition

The Wired website reports that branches of Co-op in the south of England have been using real-time facial recognition cameras to scan shoppers entering stores.

In total 18 shops from the southern Co-op franchise have been using the technology in an effort to reduce shoplifting and abuse against staff.

Pharmacist Stole Tranquilisers

The Lancashire Telegraph website reports that a pharmacist working for Boots stole hundreds of boxes of drugs from his employer over a nine-month period.

Hussnen Abbas repeatedly over-ordered boxes of diazepam and temazepam which he then passed on to others, in a significant breach of trust.

Thief Avoids Jail To Care For Baby

The Metro website reports that a recruitment consultant who stole nearly £8,000 from her employer has been spared jail after revealing that she has a new-born baby.

Heather McCarthy filed 20 bogus timesheets worth a total of £7,710.29 which were paid into her own bank account.
