Pregnant Kettle Thief Jailed
Thursday, 12th September 2019 at 3:17pmThe Wilts & Gloucester Standard reports that a pregnant shoplifter who stole a kettle has been jailed for 11 weeks.
Kathleen Shiel, said to be 10 weeks off her due date, had raided Wilko twice in a day, each time stealing a kettle, and two days later she went back to take coffee, tea, sugar and a knife set.
Shiel admitted four shoplifting offences and breaching the terms of post-sentence supervision and community orders, giving JPs no option to hand down a short prison spell.
