Solicitor Impersonated HMRC Officer

The Surrey Comet reports that a former solicitor pretended to be an HMRC officer in order to gain information about the disciplinary investigation that struck him off.

Paul Baxendale-Walker of Hersham was struck off as a solicitor at a tribunal hearing in 2007 and then used a false name to write to the Law Society on what appeared to be HMRC-headed paper to try to get an admission of wrongdoing to overturn the tribunal’s decision.
