Thieving Granny Jailed For Christmas

Sarah Jane Simpson was caught stealing from one shop and handling items stolen from another shop in York on a wholesale basis, amassing a total haul worth £1,800.
Simpson pleaded to stay out of jail so that she could care for her grandchildren, claiming she was the only person who could care for them, but a judge sent her to prison for 16 weeks.
