Fake Degree Websites Shut Down

As reported on the Mancunion website, more than 40 websites have been shut down as part of an ongoing investigation into fraudulent institutions.

One site claimed to be Stafford University – which is non-existent – and another called itself “Wolverhamton University” as opposed to Wolverhampton University.

Store Manager Stole Stock To Sell Online

According to Wales Online, the deputy manager of a designer menswear store in Cardiff stole jackets worth more than £1,000 before selling them online.
Scott Jones was caught after the German manufacturer contacted the distributor, who then set up a trap on a Facebook page.

Shoplifter Stole ‘To Be Like Santa’

The Bristol Post reports that when a shoplifter was stopped by police in possession of almost £1,000-worth of goods, he told them he wanted to give out presents like Santa.

Simon Thyer was detained by officers as he wheeled a trolley from Marks and Spencer, loaded with gifts, clothes and food.

Trio Stole Electricals In Foil-Lined Bags

As reported on the This Is Lancashire website, a trio of shoplifters who used foil-lined bags to steal more than £3,000 worth of electrical items and other goods from East Lancashire supermarkets have each been jailed for 20 months.

Police discovered an array of electrical goods in a Ford Focus being driven on the M6 toll road.
