The Staffordshire Live website reports that a thief stole more than £1,700 worth of items from shops including Boots, Tesco and Asda in just a few weeks.

Joseph Graham – jailed for nine weeks – targeted high value but easily concealed products such as cosmetics, hair treatment and joints of meat.

The BBC News website reports that a man stole more than £48,000 from his parents, girlfriends, friends and employer “without any prejudice or remorse”.

Wayne Skinner – jailed for over five years – used the money to fund “a life way beyond his means”, buying luxury holidays, nights out and Ed Sheeran gig tickets.

Bank Worker Stole From Family Members

As reported on the News Shopper website, a former bank employee who stole more than £74,000 from members of her own family has been jailed for 28 months.

Hien Ly used her position to take large sums of money off the victims and state she was putting it into “investments” and to purchase properties.

Thief ‘Nearly Destroyed’ Storage Firm

The North Wales Live website reports that a storage firm’s general manager swindled his employer out of £56,800, ‘nearly destroying’ the business.

Nick Keenan made large numbers of fraudulent transactions, paying money due to the company directly to his personal account over an 18-month period.

NHS Manager Stole £802k

According to the Independent website, a former senior manager for the NHS has been jailed for defrauding hundreds of thousands of pounds from a hospital trust where he worked.

In a sophisticated fraud, Barry Stannard set up two companies which he used to send hundreds of fake invoices to the hospital, which he would then sign off himself.

Thief Hid Magnets In Pants

The Yorkshire Evening Post website reports that a shoplifter was arrested after he was found with magnets in his boxer shorts.

A court heard that Terrence Miles used an “improvised item” in his underwear to remove security tags from clothing at a White Company store in Leeds.
