According to the Worksop Guardian website, a man whose relationship had broken down went into ‘self-destruct’ mode as he embarked on a month-long stealing spree.

Nathan Highfield stole £1,020 of meat, bananas and washing powder from Aldi, Co-op and Morrisons.

According to the Irish News website, a car dealership employee has admitted swindling close to £500,000 from her employers over a seven-year period.

A court heard how Norma Smith admitted stealing £437,824 from Edwin May Ltd, abusing her position of trust within the company.

The Daily Record website reports that a gambling addict who stole over £1.6million from her car dealership employers has been ordered to sell her home, car and designer goods to pay back what she took.
Karen Brailsford’s fraud included falsifying invoices to fund her addiction, and, at its peak, she managed to take £300,000 from the company in one year.

Shoplifter Stole ‘To Help A Friend’

The News & Star website reports that a thief who fled empty-handed from Sainsbury’s store was trying to help a friend whose benefits had been stopped.

Mark Proudfoot attempted to steal laundry products and food valued at £83 by pushing a trolley full of goods past the tills and out of the store, making no attempt to pay.

Trader Sold Fakes In Shop And Online

The Liverpool Echo website reports that a trader caught with fake designer goods and toys from Apple AirPods to Zepter knife sets has been fined nearly £4,000.

Trading Standards officers removed 186 high-value items and designer goods valued at more than £30,000 from Darren Spendlove over a six-month period.

Marker Traders Sold Fake Trainers

According to The Argus website, two brothers who ran market stalls in Rye have been convicted of breaching the Trade Marks Act after being caught selling counterfeit trainers.

Following a test purchase in October and a further visit in December 2021 more than 1,000 pairs of fake footwear were seized from stalls owned by Sukhdeav and Hardev Singh.
