The Kent Online website reports that a “selfish” worker stole nearly £100,000 from her employers, with which she bought Tefal pans, hotel stays and clubbing trips to Amsterdam.

Lidl Trials ‘VAR’ Self Checkouts

According to the Retail Systems website, Lidl has become the latest major supermarket to trial new self-service checkouts, to help address record levels of shoplifting.

The tills feature cameras that detect when shoppers fail to scan items properly, then plays back recorded footage on a screen before customers can complete their purchases.

As reported on the Essex Police website, a woman stole more than £200,000 from the charity she worked for as trusted office manager.

Isabella George – jailed for three years withdrew large amounts of money from the charity’s account over nearly six years.
