According to the Bath Echo, two Network Rail workers admitted conspiring to steal more than £14k worth of company property to sell on eBay.

A scam was unravelled last year when it was discovered that two nail guns stolen from a depot were spotted for sale on eBay, along with numerous other items.

BBC News reports that Matthew Cooper – an employee of Aviva, one of the UK’s biggest insurers – stole information from his employers and sold on hundreds of customer records to a claims company and two firms of solicitors.

David Wilson, a deputy manager at Toys “R” Us in York started stealing from the chain in 2008 – a year after being promoted into a managerial role – according to the York Press.

The company used software to trace the stolen stock before evidence was handed to loss prevention officers who matched the goods with Wilson’s eBay and PayPal account.

According to a story in The Leader, a Wrexham man has admitted handling and selling stolen Vauxhall parts worth thousands of pounds on eBay.

Mark Roberts had a stash of goods worth £38,000 which had been taken by an employee from the Vauxhall car plant in Ellesmere Port.

In Blackpool, The Gazette reports that a supermarket worker stole goods worth an estimated £42,000 from his employer to sell on eBay in a “massive abuse of position”.

Daniel Cannon, 28, had access to the Asda warehouse in Fleetwood, from where he would steal mobile phones and tablets over a series of months.

As reported in the Hertfordshire Mercury, a woman from Hertford used company funds to buy £50,000-worth of mobile phones.

Sarah Millet ordered more than 200 smartphones when she was working as an IT assistant at Holman Henwick Willan LLP, an international law firm.
